Lay Leadership Task Force Papers

President Sommerfeld announced at the October 3, 2004, Board of Directors meeting the appointment of a President's Task Force to "Consider Support and Concerns for Level 3 (Licensed Deacons) of the Lay Leadership Program."  This ten member Task Force with the aid of two advisory members will

  1. Biblically, Confessionally, Synodically, and practically examine with care both the concerns with and the support for the Nebraska Lay Leadership Program.
  2. Create a plan for theological dialogue among the pastors of the Nebraska District about the Lay Leadership Program.
  3. Develop recommendations for any improvement of the Program for possible implementation.
  4. Bring a report of their findings and recommendations to the District President that he can present to the March 2004 Strategic Planning meeting of the District Board of Directors meeting.

Task Force members are:

Co-Chairs: Rev. Dirk Reek of Seward and Rev. Georg Williams of Ainsworth

Members:  Rev. Ray Wilke of Norfolk, Rev. Terrell Huber of Creighton, Rev. Leon Zimmerman of Merna, Rev. Norman Friedmeyer of Plattsmouth, Mr. Kevin Fry, Mr. Steve Henry, Mr. Arlan Ahlers.
