Lay Leadership Training Program

The Board of Directors of the Nebraska District has initiated an educational program designed to foster personal and leadership competencies of laity. The program consists of ten courses and seeks to equip laity on four levels.

Rev. Dr. Marvin Bergman is the coordinator for the Nebraska District Lay Leadership Training Program.  He works with the members interested in one or more of the classes offered through this program.  Dr. Bergman may be contacted at mbergman@cune.edu or call the District Office to visit with his assistant, Carol.

  • LEVEL ONE focuses on personal growth in faith and life.
  • LEVEL TWO aims to equip laity for ministry such as that of a Pastoral Assistant or in various other areas of ministry.
  • LEVEL THREE entails completing the District’s Lay Leadership Program and entering one of the seminaries of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod through any of their programs leading to ordination.
