Calling a Pastor in a time of pastoral vacancy

• contact your Circuit Counselor
• conduct a congregational self-study.  The self-study is available from the District Office
• arrange a pre-call meeting with District President and Circuit Counselor
• receive names of potential pastoral candidates from congregational members
• submit pastoral candidate names to District President
• receive call list from District President
• conduct call meeting with assistance of the Circuit Counselor
• complete call documents. Call documents are available on-line through calling the District Office
• study Scripture and pray through the call process, placing all confidence in the Holy Spirit.

Calling a Pastor in a time of pastoral vacancy through Seminary Placement

• contact your Circuit Counselor
• conduct a congregational self-study.  Self-study is available from the District Office
• arrange a pre-call meeting with District President and Circuit Counselor and discuss details of calling through Placement.
• conduct call meeting with assistance of the Circuit Counselor
• decide to call a pastor from one the seminaries through placement
• complete call documents for placement. Call documents are available on-line through calling the District Office
• submit call documents to the District President for approval and submission to the LCMS Board for Higher Education
• study Scripture and pray through the call process, placing all confidence in the Holy Spirit.
