Seminary application and entrance: men receiving an internal call to pastoral ministry
- speak and pray with their pastor
- contact the seminaries
- visit the seminaries
- apply to a seminary
- arrange for a District Interview by contacting the President's Assistant
Colloquy for male pastors coming from another Christian denomination to LCMS
- speak and pray with an LCMS pastor
- contact the District President for an interview and recommendation
- apply for Colloquy
- arrange for a Colloquy Committee interview
- complete customized Colloquy requirements
- placed into ministry of LCMS
DELTO (Distance Education Leading to Ordination) for extraordinary mission needs where it is difficult to have a full time pastor. DELTO provides “On-the-Job seminary approved training” for men over 30 years of age with significant experience in the church to become a pastor.
- speak and pray with their pastor
- identified by a congregation for whom it is difficult to maintain a full-time pastor to be the man to train to become their pastor
- contact the Nebraska District Lay Leadership Program
- arrange for an interview with the District President
- arrange for a District Interview
- apply to one of the seminaries for DELTO admission
- register for first ten courses of Nebraska District Lay Leadership Program
- serve in the congregation under supervision of mentor pastor throughout training
- approved by Council of Presidents to become DELTO Vicar
- complete 20 seminary DELTO courses and continue serving congregation under supervision
