| Grace Place Matching Grant
The Rupert Dunlau Foundation has been a magnificent partner with Grace Place Lutheran Retreats to provide health and wellness retreats for Nebraska District pastors and their wives. The mission of Grace Place Lutheran Retreats is to offer preventative wellness skills, attitudes, and resources to our Lutheran professional church workers and their families, so they can carry forth the Gospel message of salvation in Christ and live and serve His people abundantly in body, mind, and spirit. Our church workers cannot maximize their ability to give of themselves unless they are in top physical, spiritual, and intellectual condition. In October 2008, the foundation awarded Grace Place Lutheran Retreats a $35,000 matching grant to help underwrite the cost of two retreats in 2010 for pastors and teachers in Nebraska. This would retreat 15 to 18 pastoral couples and 15 to 18 teacher couples. The total cost of these retreats is anticipated to be $70,000. When matching grants are awarded, Grace Place Lutheran Retreats must match, dollar for dollar the grant amount within one year of receiving the grant. This is done to encourage others within the community to participate and generate new donors and perhaps spur present donors to consider additional gifts to Grace Place. We are appealing to pastors and their congregations in Nebraska to support us with a donation so that additional pastors and congregations in Nebraska may experience the benefits derived from a Grace Place Lutheran Retreat.
