Nebraska Distrct - LCMS Board of Directors

The Nebraska District Board of Directors, chosen in District Convention, is a body of 16 dedicated women and men, consisting of six pastors, eight laity, and two teachers, who are to assure that the District accomplishes its mission to resource leaders, congregations and related organizations in their mission of discipling the saved and proclaiming Christ to a lost and changing world.

The Board of Directors :

  • conduct the business and legal affairs of the District
  • create and maintain policies to accomplish the District mission
  • appoint committees and task forces when needed
  • issue calls to LCMS rostered workers who the District President recommends for service on the District staff
  • fulfill duties set for in the Synod’s bylaws in Dispute resolution process
  • meet four times per year and for special meetings as needed

Input process for the Board of Directors
The Nebraska District Board of Directors has created a process for congregations and church workers to offer input to the Board.  In accordance with Nebraska State statutes Nebraska District Board Meetings are open meetings.

  • letters to the Board addressed to the District President
  • intention to visit a Board meeting communicated to the Board Chairman
  • request to address the Board communicated to the Board Chairman
