The Nebraska District is home to a significant Sudanese population and congregations across the District are addressing the physical and spiritual needs of these people.

Rev. John Deang was called by the Nebraska District to serve as missionary-at-large to the African immigrant population in Nebraska. He also serves at Christ Lutheran Church in Lincoln as associate pastor working with the Sudanese ministry there.

Communities with a Sudanese population include: Grand Island, Norfolk, Omaha, and Lincoln. For more information on ministry in these communities, contact the District Office.
