Seth Kaiser, Missionary to the Katrina Victims

After the terrible impact of Katrina, God has "called" some special people in such an exciting way!  Groups from all over the midwest have gone to help the people of this area of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.  One of the stories that many people are not aware of is the fact that one of the finest of our missionaries serving in this area at Metairie, Louisiana, is a son of Iowa West.  DCE Missionary Seth Kaiser has been a leader in the establishment of one of the huge camps that has been established to house workers and relief help.  Seth is the son of Pastor Kurt and Colene Kaiser of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa.  Seth was serving as DCE of Our Savior Lutheran at Norfolk, Nebraska, and then was called by the Orphan Grain Train to be a special missionary on site at Metairie to establish a base and contact for all of the groups coming to help in this horrible disaster.  It will take years and years for the repair of this area, and Seth has been working day after day to assist workers, doing chapels, witnessing to the local people, offering words of encouragement and hope.  He works each day to coordinate efforts, provide devotions and link people with needs of the people.  Mission Central has provided some of the needed support for this area and to support Seth Kaiser and his ministry.  Seth, God willing, will continue in this effort until April 30, 2006, at which time God has called him to Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, where he will begin his studies for the office of the Holy Ministry.  Please keep this special missionary in your prayers. "God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble" Psalm 46:1. Here we see Seth with his trailer from the Orphan Grain Train.
