Special Missionaries in Omaha
The story began many, many years ago at Pomeroy, Iowa. There was a Lutheran School there and the teacher there was a Mr. Lueders. He and his wife had 3 boys by the names of Ed, Louis and Carl. Louis spent his career on the East Coast as a member of the FBI, Carl became a Missouri Synod pastor and is retired and lives at Marshalltown, Iowa, and Ed worked in the lumber business and is now retired and lives in Omaha with his wife Donna. What does that all have to do with Mission Central and Iowa District West. Well, it's so great because this family never forgot their "roots" here in this wonderful District. Pastor Carl Lueder and his wife Dorothy have been to Mission Central a number of times and are special supporters of our work, Louis who lives in Richmond, Virginia has traveled back to Mission
Central, and has had Gary come and speak at his congregation in Virginia to tell about the miracles of Mission Central. And Ed and Donna have been some of the most faithful members of our Volunteer Staff. Ed is our Volunteer Driver. He and Donna meet people flying into the airport, and bring them to our offices. He has also provided much transportation for Gary over the years. Missionaries are special drivers and Ed and Donna Lueders have been so faithful over the years. I know that their father would be so proud of the three Lueders brothers who are all special missionaries, and the words of Acts 2:39 are so true; "The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off- for all whom the Lord our God will call". See photo of Ed Lueders. It is because of special missionaries like these that we keep going.
