| Mission Field . . . Nebraska Bulletin Blurbs
Pastors and Office Staff please consider using one or more of the following pieces in your congregation’s bulletins or newsletters. These paragraphs may be copied and pasted below. The link on the right will open the text as a PDF file. Seeing the Mission Field . . . When you look out the window of your home or car, what kind of fields do you see? Corn? Soybeans? Milo? Wheat? Do you see steel and concrete, without a field in sight? Do you see the incredible field God has placed in front of every one of us in the Nebraska District? It is not a field of crops to be tended and harvested or a city to be developed, but a mission field that starts at our door and spreads as far as our eyes and our hearts can see. The Nebraska District offers resources to help equip all God’s people as they go into this mission field. See the insert in this week’s bulletin for more information on the resources offered. Did you know . . . the support your congregation provided to the Nebraska District through your mission and ministry budget helps Jesus Our Savior Lutheran Preschool in Winnebago tell little children about Jesus? Your congregation is a partner in this ministry, as well as the ministries to college students at UNL, UNO, UNK, and Wayne State. You also join with other congregations in the District to provide staff, support, and materials to ministries sharing the Good News of Christ with Hispanic and Sudanese people throughout the state, as well as the people in the Sandhills and other ministries. Please prayerfully consider increasing your congregation’s commitment to the Nebraska District to allow these ministries to continue. For more information on these ministries, contact District Missions Director Rev. Rich Boring at 1-888-643-2961.
Are you working in the Lord’s mission field in Nebraska? We live our lives in the mission field God has placed before us at our jobs, in our homes, among our communities, and in our congregations. The Nebraska District offers resources to congregations and schools to help equip members as they go into the mission field and share the Good News of Jesus with those who don’t know Him. Resources in the areas of stewardship, Christian education, evangelism and outreach, and much more are available from the District Office. A portion of your congregation’s mission and ministry dollars go to support these and other resources from the Nebraska District, which in turn strengthens your congregation as it goes about the work of the Lord. For more information, contact District Treasurer Paul Pettit at 1-888-643-2961. What is the Nebraska District? It is the partnership of 243 churches of The Lutheran ChurchMissouri Synod committed to working together to disciple to the saved and to proclaim Christ to a lost and changing world. The resources provided to your congregation that allow these things to happen are made possible by this partnership. The mission and ministry dollars your congregation commits to the Nebraska District are used to provide resources back to your congregation to help you do your ministry better. Please prayerfully consider increasing your mission and ministry commitment as you examine your congregation’s budget for the new year. For more information, contact District Treasurer Paul Pettit at 1-888-643-2961. Did you know that nine of the pastors graduating from the seminaries this spring were from Nebraska? Did you know the Nebraska District provides student aid for students studying for full-time church work at LCMS seminaries and universities? Did you know that money comes from you? The money your congregation provides to the District as mission and ministry support is used in part to provide scholarships to the next generation of church workers. Thank you for your past support of these students. Please prayerfully consider increasing your congregation’s mission and ministry budget to allow continued support for tomorrow’s pastors, teachers, DCEs and other church workers. For more information, contact District Treasurer Paul Pettit at 1-888-643-2961. Is your heart still burning from Prairie Fire? Did you enjoy the day spent in fellowship with others and focused on ministry opportunities? Did you know that day was made possible in part by you and your congregation? Events such as “Prairie Fire” and conferences to educate, inform, and uplift laity and church workers are made possible by your congregation’s mission and ministry dollars committed to the District. Your support of the Nebraska District provides your congregation with resources to help you do ministry better. Please prayerfully consider increasing your congregation’s mission and ministry gifts to the District to allow these resources to continue to be available. For more information, contact District Treasurer Paul Pettit at 1-888-643-2961. |
