Prairie Fire 2004 “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us . . . and opened the Scriptures to us?” asked the two disciples in Emmaus after walking and talking with the Lord (Luke 24:32). Is the flame lit by the Spirit at your baptism burning strongly, or are daily struggles with the devil, the world, and sinful flesh leaving the flame to flicker weakly? The Nebraska District offered Prairie Fire, a day-long event to resource and re-ignite lay leaders and church workers in their mission and ministry on Concordia's campus Saturday, August 14. Children of God from across the Nebraska District and from the neighboring Kansas District spent the day in fellowship with each other, in worship to the Lord, and being resourced through break-out sessions and by the guest speaker, Rev. Robert Roegner. The Lord blessed the day with beautiful weather, a great turn-out, and time for people with a heart for the Lord's mission to gather and learn from each other. Pictures from the day are available from the links on the right. |
