The Treasurer/Business Managers’ Workshop is quickly approaching! The theme for the workshop is “In View of God’s Mercy . . .” (Romans 12:1). Knowing God’s love for us in Christ Jesus indeed empowers our service to Him and His people.

The complimentary workshop will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2007, at the Janzow Campus Center Cattle Conference Room at Concordia University in Seward. For your convenience, a map of Concordia University , registration form, and an agenda are linked on the right.

A few details about the day:  Registration starts at 8:30 am, with the workshop beginning at 9:00 am.  There will be donuts, coffee, and juice available during the registration process. Lunch and conferences expenses are provided courtesy of Lutheran Church Extension Fund, sponsor of the workshop.

Throughout the day, several professionals in their area will present information on topics such as:

• What it means to be the Treasurer
• Knowing when to call an attorney…recognizing issues and addressing them
• Procedures and policies you should have in place to protect your congregation regarding counseling and sexual harassment
• Development of foundations and promoting them
• How to protect yourself when you are handling the cash
• All about Concordia Plan Services
• How to handle risk through insurance coverage
• Payroll processing
• Personnel policies and regulations
• And much more

Another very important part of the day will be the “Question and Answer” time with the speakers, when you will have the opportunity to get answers to the questions you encounter as you go about the tasks you are asked to complete in your service.
