Marie Eleanora (Seifert) Einspahr, commissioned minister – teacher emeritus, departed this life on June 14, 2011, in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born on August 19, 1932, in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Arno Martin and Maria (Schick) Seifert.  She graduated from Concordia Teachers College in Seward, Nebraska, in 1952.  On June 21, 1953, she married Junior Walter Julius (J.W.) Einspahr at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada.  J.W. and Marie have five children: Kelvin, Kent, Kregg, Kirk and Karla.  Marie received a Masters Degree from Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska, in 1987.

Throughout her career she served as a teacher at Grace, Fargo, North Dakota; Herington Public, Herington, Kansas; Christ, Perry, Oklahoma; Concordia, Tacoma, Washington; Our Redeemer, North Platte, Nebraska; Immanuel, Hooper, Nebraska; Mount Olive, Richmond, California; and Good Shepherd, Hayward, California. She continued as a substitute teacher and retired in April of 2000.

Mrs. Einspahr is survived by four sons and their wives, Kelvin and Karen Einspahr of Gilbert, Arizona; Kent and Beth Einspahr of Seward, Nebraska; Kregg and Suzanne Einspahr of Seward, Nebraska; and Kirk and Cynthia Einspahr of Chelan, Washington; daughter, Karla Einspahr of Pasadena, Texas; grandchildren, Kory, Kyle, Kara, Kristi and Jackson Einspahr; two brothers and their wives, Louis and Sandy Seifert of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada and Herman and Maria Seifert of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  Marie was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Junior Walter Einspahr.

Visitation at Volzke Funeral Home in Seward, Nebraska will be from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, and from 1:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 19.  The family will greet friends on Sunday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  The funeral service is scheduled for Monday, June 20, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, Nebraska.  Interment will be at the Seward Cemetery.

Memorials have been established in care of Concordia University, St. John Lutheran School, and Lutheran Hour Ministries.
