| Herbert E. Grabau
Herbert E. Grabau, Commissioned MinisterTeacher Emeritus, departed this life on February 6, 2008. He was born on May 29, 1924, to Ernest and Clara (Pieschke) Grabau. He graduated from Concordia University, Seward, in 1945, and received a Masters Degree from the University of Nebraska Omaha, in 1969. Herbert married Amanda Poppe on August 4, 1946. Amanda preceded Herbert in death on November 15, 1999. On September 6, 2003, Herbert was united in marriage to Ingeborg (Rau) Perlebach. Herbert served as a teacher at the following Lutheran schools: Bethel, Detroit, MI; Redemption, Detroit, MI; Zion, Leigh; Mt. Calvary, Omaha; Immanuel, Rock Island, IL; Trinity, Lincoln; and Faith, Lincoln. While at Zion, Leigh, and Mt. Calvary, Omaha, Herb also served as principal of the school. Herb retired in May of 1987. Mr. Grabau is survived by his wife; daughter, Angelynn Grabau, Eagan, MN; step-son, Dr. George Perlebach, Omaha; step-daughter, Camilla Plock, Germany; step-grandchildren, John and Anya Perlebach, Omaha, and Dr. Kristin Zinkel, Germany; brother and sister-in-law, Merton and Irma Grabau, Owatonna, MN; and sister, Louanna Doering, Deshler. The funeral service was held February 11, 2008, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Omaha. Interment was at Lincoln Memorial Park, Lincoln.
