Mrs. Lillian E. (Trudell) Wellman, wife of the Reverend Keith Wellman, Wauneta, Nebraska, departed this life on Sunday, July 10, 2011, at the age of 62.  She was born February 12, 1949, in Keene Valley, New York, to Roy and Margaret (Barkman) Trudell.  She was baptized on April 17, 1949, at Notre Dame Catholic Church, Malone, New York.  She grew up in Saranac Lake, New York, and graduated from The College of St. Rose, Albany, New York, with a B.A. in education.  Lillian made public profession of her faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Barnhart, Missouri, where she was also united in marriage to Keith Wellman on August 6, 1973.  She was active in the parishes in which her husband served:  Our Savior, Wilmot, and Bethlehem, Milbank, South Dakota (1974-1978); Grace, Lexington, Missouri (1978-1983); Grace, Klickitat, and Our Savior, Bingen, Washington (1983-1999); and St. Paul’s, Wauneta, Nebraska (1999-present). 

Lillian is survived by her husband, Rev. Keith Wellman, rural Wauneta; two sons, Nathaniel Wellman, McCook, Nebraska, and Paul Wellman, Minden, Nebraska; granddaughter, Chloe Mitchell, Gibbon, Nebraska; three sisters, Anne Trudell, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, Jeanne Fischer, Jupiter, Florida, and Carol Green, Baldwinsville, New York; six brothers, Steve Trudell, Scotia, New York, Mark Trudell, Southington, Connecticut, Gerry Trudell, Gansevoort, New York, Phillip Trudell, South Attleboro, Maine, Paul Trudell, Augusta, Georgia, and Eric Trudell, Alaska; many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Rebecca.

The funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, rural Wauneta, Nebraska, on Thursday, July 14, 2011, at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Waco, Nebraska, on Friday, July 15, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. (CT).  Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2011, from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Imperial, Nebraska.
