Cassie McMahan Named Nebraska LCMS Outstanding Lutheran Educator for 2008

The Nebraska District – LCMS is pleased to announce Mrs. Cassie McMahan as the 2008 Outstanding Educator for the schools of The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod in the Nebraska District.  Mrs. McMahan serves Faith Lutheran Church and School in Lincoln as music teacher and director.  Faith principal, Mr. Stu Tietz, describes Cassie as having a tremendously strong gift and talent for teaching and for providing children with creative and engaging music instruction.  Her choirs have consistently received superior ratings at the Concordia University “Gathering of Talents” events.  Additionally, Cassie has directed the Lincoln Community Lutheran Choir.  One Concordia University music professor stated, “Cassie is Lutheran School Music in Nebraska .”

This award recognizes recipients for being an exemplary Christian role model who significantly impacts students’ faith and life development, as well as honoring their extraordinary contributions to the Lutheran teaching ministry, distinguished long-term service to the Lutheran teaching ministry, outstanding churchmanship, and recognized leadership in Lutheran Christian education.
