Please continue to pray for the congregation of Zion, Shelton, a beautiful rural church that burned down on December 11, 2019. Circuit Visitor Rev. Rob Kuefner of Trinity, Lexington shared, “The cross from the steeple was salvaged and can be seen at the entrance.” Zion’s members are grateful to the many community fire departments that responded.
President Snow, Rev. Kuefner, and vacancy pastors Rev. Doug Gaunt and Rev. Don Becker met with congregational leadership on January 5. It was decided that the congregation needs more time to grieve and consider their next steps. They will continue to worship with their sister congregation, Bethlehem, Ravenna, and reevaluate their options sometime in April. They appreciate your continued prayers.
Once the congregation has made plans for how they will go forward, we will share them with you in the Reporter and in our Weekly Update email newsletter.
